Omega Center for Sustainable Living (OCSL)

More than simply a place, Omega Institute is a global community that awakens the best in the human spirit through innovative educational experiences.

Omega was founded on the holistic worldview that the well-being of each of us is deeply connected to the well-being of all living things. Since 1977, the nonprofit Omega has offered educational experiences that inspire an integrated approach to personal and social change, and remains at the forefront of human development.

Each year, more than 23,000 people attend workshops and educational programs delivered by hundreds of teachers, artists, healers, and thinkers on the leading edge of their disciplines. With special attention to key initiatives in sustainability, women’s leadership, veterans care, and service, Omega brings awareness to issues that must be addressed in order for our society to heal and flourish.

Located on more than 200 acres acres in Rhinebeck, NY, in the beautiful Hudson Valley, Omega's main campus is designed to be a healing center, a peaceful oasis in a hurried world.

Omega is also leading the way in creating a sustainable world. As an environmental steward, Omega's commitment to sustainability includes recycling and conservation, supporting sustainable agriculture, and reducing greenhouse gases through shuttle services and ride sharing. They recently launched the LEED Platinum and Living Building Challenge certified Omega Center for Sustainable Living, which includes a classroom, a water garden, a constructed wetland, and a state-of-the-art filtration system called the Eco Machine that treats the wastewater of the campus. (It's the first building to go through the LBC process and to get both certifications.)

The beauty of the gardens, lake, and rolling hills, the friendly staff, the wonderful food, and the facilities at the Wellness Center all support what people come to Omega to learn: how to make the world a better place while discovering within yourself the courage to become a happier, healthier, and more spirited person.
